Many of the analog stuff got sold during some kind of digital revolution, but I did not directly swapped the analog gear for plug-ins and such – I started develop my own music software’s instead – and during the same time I studied and need the money to buy food. :-)

Nowadays I use both digital and analog devices for music making. And both hardware and software.

More info soon about how I use different kinds of gear.

The ChickenBox (swedish name: Fågellåda) was built to my dear friend Kristian Borgstedt. Kristian is like me, a sound-gadget-nerd, and I wanted to build him a unique little machine that was fun and sounded cool.

I used a train sound DIY kit (Pierre Schaeffer in memoriam :-) ) that I built and then circuit bended. The heart shaped, metalbox was a gift from my mother-in-law. It turned out quite nice as the train sounds sometimes now sounds a little like chickens squeaking. The modifications is done with two screws as touch controls, a knob as speed control, and buttons to fire off the sounds.

The box was given to Kristian at the NorbergFestival 2006 (NBF 7.06), in Norberg, Sweden. The pictures are from when he tried it out the first time.

At the Royal Collage Of Music in Stockholm where I study we have started a Quartet of Laptop musicians called the Royal Laptop Quartet. We are using keyboards, controllers, joysticks, gamepads, wireless networking (OSC over WLAN), Max/MSP in our performances.

The ensemble was started during a course in Live Electronic Ensemble composing and playing, held by Mattias Petersson.

The Quartet is Anna Einarsson, Sebastian Lakatos, Mattias Sköld and Marcus Wrangö. We have written one Max/MSP patch each, that all four is playing on. The four pieces are quite different and stylewise it goes from live electro acoustics to microsound to noise.

We are looking for concerts, so contact us if you are interested.

You could have a listen at our myspace page, click here.
