The eioo controller is a controller with only to large knobs. The eioo was first used in cooperation with the MaxMSP-patch called RatPack 4×4 to generate a kind of digital scratching system. The scratching with eioo/RatPack is not that well suited for DJ-use but works exceptional good as a musical instrument system!

• Based on a Arduino Microcontroller Board, using two analog inputs – with a resolution of 1024 values – compare with MIDIs 127 values. The 10 bit resolution is in this system very useful, as I wanted to scratch over a couple of different sound files.
• Scratching over four sound files in each hand/knob.
• Case is from a stripped old education computer – Esselte 100 – hence the name eioo. Esselte 100 was an Basic-only computer, with similar physical dimensions as a Commandore 64, but in an aluminum case. I removed all PCBs and the old keyboard, and turned the case upside down.
• The two large knobs are specially made for this purpose by Stålmans Verktyg in Avesta, Sweden.
